You’ve made it through to interview stage. So how do you ensure that you get shortlisted for second interview?
Preparation, preparation, preparation!
Go back to the original job description, check through the requirements and key responsibilities line by line. Can you provide an example of your experience that specifically relates to each of your previously held positions?
Remember, the interviewer wants to know if your skills and expertise match what they are looking for, so always bear in the back of your mind when answering questions. By being able to give examples provides a fuller picture of the experience you have gained throughout your career to date and may set your apart from the other candidates.
The interviewer will have your resume in front of them, so make sure you know it inside out – especially if you have modified it to suit the position you have applied for.
